exploring the craft of writing together.
For the new season we have a fresh offering, based around regular monthly sessions with a theme, prompts and exercises to inspire your creativity; and some special attention on the craft element of writing in the form of a three-session Craft Your Story course. All sessions are on Thursdays, 7.30-9, online.
February 6 – Getting Crafty
In this session we take inspiration from the crafts and craftiness hardwired into our human nature. Whether it’s unravelling a ball of yarn, spinning a potter’s wheel, pursing your lips and blowing your trumpet or hiding your true feelings behind your poker face, there’s much to learn about craftsmanship that we can use in our writing. Bring your own home-baked biscuits if you’re that way inclined!

There are so many ways to write a story that even the task of deciding where to begin can be overwhelming so our writing itch never gets scratched! This short course gives structure, support and a deadline to get you all the way to a completed story you can be proud of. It’s for you if you’ve been wanting to write a story but have never managed it, or if you write but you’re stuck in a rut, or don’t know how to develop your writing.
You can sign up for one or all of the sessions – the course is best done as a whole, unsurprisingly, but you’ll still get a lot out of doing part of it.
